Job Description

Job Summary: The Expeditor is the central hub for material and information flow, ensuring parts move seamlessly through our machine shop and production lines to meet demanding aerospace delivery schedules. You'll bridge gaps between departments, proactively solving issues to keep projects on track and customers happy.

Responsibilities

  • Material Flow: Coordinate the movement of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods between inventory, mold shop, machine shop, quality and shipping.
  • Production Support: Stage materials, monitor work orders, and ensure operators have necessary stock for timely completion.
  • Communication Hub: Liaise with program managers, purchasing, production leads, and supervisors on material status and potential delays.
  • Inventory Control: Track stock levels, identify shortages, and assist in reordering critical components.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve discrepancies, delivery issues, or production roadblocks quickly.
  • Quality & Compliance: Verify incoming materials and coordinate with the QA department to ensure parts meet aerospace specifications before they move forward.
  • Documentation: Assist with shipping paperwork and maintain accurate records of expediting activities.

Experience/Skills

  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; ERP/MRP software experience a plus.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude essential for a fast-paced, small company environment.
  • Proven experience in expediting, logistics, or production coordination, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows and inventory management.

Education

  • High School Education or GED or equivalent experience
